Tax Reduction Experts complete the grievance process end-to-end including all paperwork,
market research, appraisals, negotiations with the assessors' office and court hearings.
Here's how it works:

1. Sign up with Tax Reduction Experts by submitting the authorization form, via e-mail
erin@taxreductionexpertsny.com or by telephone, 845-395-6707.

2. Our team will review your property assessment for free to determine if a grievance is warranted. We will not
waste your time if your property is not over assessed.
3. Tax Reduction Experts will submit a grievance to the local Board of Assessment Review on your behalf. The
deadline for filing a grievance can vary by county. The deadline for Rockland, Orange and Putnam Counties
is the fourth Tuesday of May each year. The deadline for Westchester County is the third Tuesday of June each
year.

4. The Board of Assessment Review will provide Tax Reduction Experts a written decision letter.

5. If the Board of Assessment Review does not lower the assessment or the assessment is not lowered
sufficiently, Tax Reduction Experts will file a Small Claims Assessment Review (SCAR) petition with your county
supreme court. SCAR hearing dates are often held several months after the grievance has been filed.
6. Once Tax Reduction Experts has lowered your property assessment, the new assessment remains until any
changes are made to the property. The grievance process can take up to 9-12 months. Tax Reduction Experts
handles the entire process, end-to-end, with little or no effort on your part.
